JIMI HENDRIX - THE CRY OF LOVE LP (CRIMSON RED VINYL TEST PRESSING - TRACK RECORD 2408 101). Rumoured to be one of only five in existence, this red vinyl test pressing was pressed in 1971 to test the dealer reaction to vinyl colour of the Pink Fairies' 'Never Never Land' LP; they used the plates from the current production run - Cry Of Love - as the Pink Fairies' album wasn't ready at that time. The first side of the disc has the correct Track label for the Hendrix LP, but with the Fairies being on parent company Polydor, they switched the side two label for an available Polydor label for colour comparison - In this case, 'The Very Best Of Bert Kaempfert'. Both sides are the as-issued Cry Of Love, despite what the label says. Side 1 (Hendrix label) is in Ex condition with some light surface marks/ hairlines. Side 2 (The Very Best Of Bert Kaempfert) is in VG condition with poly residue on the playing surfaces. The LP was packaged in the original Pink Fairies sleeve in VG condition (due to creasing/ edgewear), complete with inner & printed PVC outer.
